Q1: What is the difference between soft enamel and hard enamel pins?

A1: Soft enamel leaves the metal lines raised above the colour, giving a textured surface you can feel, and it is the more affordable choice for most orders. Hard enamel is filled level and polished flat like jewellery, so it feels smoother, resists scratching and looks more premium. Soft enamel suits events and giveaways, hard enamel suits retail and collector pins. We will recommend one based on your artwork and target price.

Q2: Which pin backing should I choose? 

A2: Butterfly clutch is the standard and lowest cost option. Rubber clutch grips harder, will not scratch fabric and is preferred by collectors and streetwear brands. Magnetic backing needs no hole, so it suits suits, uniforms and delicate fabric. Safety pin is best for children and school events, and screw back is the strongest choice for leather, denim and heavy duty gear. Tell us where the pin will be worn.

Q3: Do I pay a mould fee and is it refundable?

A3: Yes, a one time mould is cut from your artwork because each pin shape is die struck in metal. The fee depends on size and detail, it is refunded when you reorder the same design, and it is waived on orders above 1000 pieces. The mould stays with your design at our factory, so repeat runs for the same collection cost less and start production faster than the first order.

Q4: What is your MOQ and can I order several designs at once?

A4: MOQ is 100 pieces per design, and several designs can run in the same order so you can launch a full collection or test a few concepts before scaling. Unit cost drops noticeably at 500 and 1000 pieces per design. We will quote three quantity tiers side by side so you can see exactly where your margin improves before deciding how much to commit.

Q6: How many colours can one pin have and will they match my brand?

A6: Up to 8 enamel colours can be filled on a single pin, each matched to your Pantone reference. Because colour is filled cell by cell, keeping the count lower helps control cost without weakening the design. For photographic or gradient artwork we use offset printing with an epoxy dome instead. A free digital colour proof is sent within 12 hours before any production starts.
